Henry Ford Health has served communities across Michigan for more than a century. So when it came time for the healthcare services company to decommission their Jackson offices, they put community first.
Through a partnership with Green Standards, they donated $22,591 worth of assets — everything from task chairs to soft seating — to local schools, non-profits, and community groups. As a result, more than 27 tons of furniture, fixtures, and equipment were kept out of the landfill.

The benefits of sustainable office decommissioning
These donations mean that, instead of buying furniture, community organizations like Jackson School of the Arts can further their mission by offering tuition assistance to students. By keeping these items in use and out of the trash, Henry Ford Health is making a positive difference in the communities they serve.
“We are excited to know that this bold step and our donation are making meaningful impacts in the communities that we serve.”
