Green Standards makes in-kind donations to Textbooks for change

Spotlight: Textbooks for Change and Green Standards Repurpose 1200+ Textbooks

“By partnering with Green Standards, we were able to ship nearly 300 quality textbooks to Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya and the University of Juba in Juba, South Sudan,” said Brady Burke, a senior manager at Textbooks For Change, an organization dedicated to bringing better educational resources to underfunded communities.

Textbooks for Change also channels non-reusable textbooks through the appropriate recyclers to minimize all waste from old textbooks as well. “The remaining books were then effectively recycled to ensure nothing was wasted.”

The donation came from a London, Ontario-based insurance firm that was looking to revitalize their staff resource library without wasting hundreds of books.
