Selling Circularity to Skeptical Stakeholders
PRINCIPLES OF THE CIRCULAR WORKPLACE
1. Design out waste.
2. Circulate furniture, fixtures, and equipment at their highest value.
3. Regenerate the natural and built environment.
At the Canadian Circular Economy Summit in Montreal, Circularity 2025 in Denver, and the World Circular Economy Forum in São Paulo, we asked circularity experts how we get everyone else into the loop. Here’s what they told us:
Engagement
We need more people to take circular actions, at home and at work, at their offices and in their daily lives. We can get them to do that by showing what’s in it for them. But we don’t stand a chance of success if we can’t get their attention.

Value
Once you’ve engaged people, you sell circularity the same way you sell anything: by demonstrating value. In simple economic terms, circularity is worth more to you than it costs to implement.
Resilience
Resilience reframes circularity as an investment in continuity, not just conservation. Circularity helps companies absorb shocks, reduce dependency, and protect brand integrity—even in turbulent times.

Selling Circularity Without Saying Circularity
Every organization has an interest in increased engagement with clients and employees, adding economic, social, and environmental value to their offerings, and building long-term resilience. Selling these outcomes is our best strategy to Loop ’Em In.
